Starting December 2024, new Tripartite Guidelines on Flexible Work Arrangement Requests (FWA) will require all employers in Singapore to consider formal requests from employees for FWAs. Employers must have a process in place for submitting, approving, or rejecting these requests.
While the Guidelines do not mandate employers to provide FWAs to employees, they are strongly encouraged to do so. Embracing FWAs can enhance talent attraction and retention. FWAs can also be used to complement full-time manpower planning in some industries.
